A convincing win by Eliot Moran in the Junior Boys race at the Devon Schools Cross Country Championships at Stover School proved to be one of many excellent performances from Exeter Harriers athletes. Moran’s 5 second victory also spurred on Sam Pyne to take the fourth spot. In the Minor Boys race Jonny Livingstone claimed third and Will Penney eighth. Finn McLear was runner up in the Inter Boys race, well ahead of the third placed runner, with Owen Coldwell ninth and Kyle Hartnell eleventh. Shaun Johnson and Patrick Livingstone placed well with fourth and fifth respectively in the Senior Boys race, with Matt Dowell ninth and Matt Penney twelfth.
Brooke Coldwell finished fourth in the Minor Girls race and Marnie Broomby eleventh. Harriers had four runners finish in the top ten in the Junior Girls race, Anna Downs claiming the runner up spot, pipped by the experienced Molly Canham of Newton Abbot. Eleanor Brandon was third, Issie Beech sixth and Runa Manby tenth. The Inter Girls reciprocated, also with four top ten finishers. Maddie Roche took the runner up spot with Florence Livingstone fourth, Josie Crosby sixth and Lauren Coleman seventh. Katie Olding finished fourth for the Senior Girls and Zoe Kuyken sixth. Hartnell, Matt Penney and Broomby are named as reserves for the Devon team to compete at the South West Schools Championships in Chippenham on 7 February, with the remaining athletes all gaining automatic qualification.
