posted in: News | 0

Sixteen Exeter Harriers travelled to Cardiff on Sunday 3rd December for the first day of the junior SW Indoor Championships. For some this would have been their first run on a banked 200m track, for others it was their first club competition ever! Undeterred 9 came home with medals and many others with personal bests.

SW Champions were all in the U17 age group, in sprints Tod Gilronan won the 200m in 24.17, and Jack Bull the 400m in 56.86. In the throws Josh Tyler won the shot with 13.25m.  Max Thomas won the high jump with 1.90m and Michael Bowley the triple jump with a jump of 12.44m.

Other medalists included Rebecca Squires with silver in 300m and bronze in 200m. In the U17M triple jump we had a clean sweep of medals with Michael’s win followed by Matthew Williams 2nd and Max Thomas 3rd. Leon Biaggi came 2nd in the U15 boys high jump with a jump of 1.70m, equalling the highest jump but 2nd on count back. Katie Chapman gained silver in the U15 Girls long jump with a jump of 4m 97. Further events in the Championships take place on 6th January 2018, details can be found here.
