A small but enthusiastic team of Exeter Harriers competed at the third Devon Sportshall League Fixture held at the Plymouth Life Centre, on Sunday 28th January. Ten, U10 – U15, athletes participated in a variety of disciplines; running, jumping and throwing against a very large field which included Erme Valley Harriers, currently 1st in the league, boasting a team of 60 athletes! Nevertheless, Exeter Harriers were able to produce some very credible top 10 performances.
Craig Moncur, a seasoned sportshall competitior, placed in all three of his events. 1st shot put (13.61m), 2nd standing triple jump (7.38m) and also 2 lap hurdles.
Matthew Williams took 1st in standing triple jump (7.96m) as well as 1st in the standing long jump (2.38m)
Samadi Nanayakkara 2nd place in the 6 lap race, 3rd in 2 lap race and 2nd in the standing triple jump (6.44m)
Charlotte Starr 2nd place in the High Jump (1.25m) and 3rd place shot put (5.36m)
Imogen Bond 3rd 2 lap hurdles, 4th 2 lap race, 5th speed bounce
Thomas Brooking 2nd in the chest push (5.75m) 7th vertical jump (0.23)
Ryan Farleigh 3rd in 1 lap hurdles, 5th 1 lap race and 6th in 2 lap race
Thomas Brown 4th in both 1 and 2 lap races and 2nd in 1 lap hurdles
Evan Murray 6th 2 lap race, 5th 6 lap race, 7th 2 lap hurdles
Indigo Burgess 2nd in 1 lap hurdles, 8th chest push (4.75m)

Well done to all those who competed. The next fixture will, once again, be at the Plymouth Life Centre on 25th February. Currently positioned in the bottom half of the league table it would be great to see us finish the season in the top half.
