The Devon County Cross Country Championships saw Exeter Harriers U13 Boys win Gold, Silver and Bronze! First home was Oliver Capps in 10m18s followed, in the next 7 seconds, by Charlie Hague 2nd and Sam Mills 3rd, achieving team Gold. The U15 Girls performed the same feat with Phoebe Clark winning in 15m 26s with Caitlin Smith and Nicole Dunn taking 2nd and 3rd and combining to win another team Gold. Good performances in this age group also came from Jasmine Stone 5th, Kate Marriott 10th and Samidi Nanayakkara 16th.
Individual medals were achieved by Scarlett Livingstone coming 2nd in the U13 Girls in 11m 32s. Exeter achieved a further team Gold with Jess Courtney 4th and Alice Clark 7th and good performances from Isabella Peyton-Jones 9th, Katie Harries 13th and Molly Loosemore 17th.
Johnny Livingstone won silver in the U15 Boys in 13m 18s with Louis Chamberlain 10th and Joseph Henley 11th giving them team Silver. They were very closely followed by Cameron Bryson in 12th.
In the U17 men Tom Davies just missed out on the medals taking 4th in 22m 17s. The U17 women took team gold with Caitlin Apps taking individual Gold in 23m14s, followed by Anna Downs 4th and Courtney Howard 9th. There were insufficient numbers to make a team in the U20 women but both Phoebe Killen in 6th and Lauren Coleman in 8th did well on a course rather longer than expected due to a wrong turn by the front runner.
First Exeter Harrier home in the Senior Men was Callum Crawford in 9th, followed by Harry Mills in 29th and Howard Bailey in 33rd giving them team bronze. Howard was closely followed by Max Prisk in 34th, Adam Stobbs 41st and Peter Chamberlain 46th.
In the Westward league, which ran alongside the Devon Championships, Exeter Harriers had 24 U11 runners in the development race and many others in the higher age groups.
