Devon Schools Cross Country

Cross CountryExeter Harriers’ cross country squad were out in force for the Devon Schools Cross Country Championships at Abbotsham, North Devon, aiming for places in the team to go forward to the South West Schools Championships in Bournemouth on 8 February.

Senior Boys’ fourth place went to Matt  Dowell, with Kate Vine running an outstanding race to take second in the Senior Girls’ race and Alice Barratt seventh.

Harriers had strong representation in the Inter Boys race with Matt Penney fourth, Patrick Livingstone fifth, Alfie Devine-Wright twelfth, Matt Simpson fifteenth, Joe Chamberlain seventeenth, Oscar Petherick twentieth and Cameron Tapp thirty-fifth.

The Inter girls’ race saw Madeleine Roche run a good race to claim sixth place, with Phoebe Killen eighth, Florence Livingstone tenth, and Zoe Kuyken thirteenth.

Finn McClear ran a superb race to easily take the top spot in the Junior Boys’ race, despite fracturing his arm the previous day, with Alex Pinsky twelfth and Owen Coldwell sixteenth.

The Minor Boys’ race saw Sam Pyne run a good race to take the runner-up spot and in the Minor Girls’ race Runa Manby was thirteenth and Katelyn Wells thirty-third.
