THIRD LOCKDOWN CHALLENGE – VERTICAL JUMP

Our third challenge is the Vertical Jump, the Sporshall demonstration video explains how to make a height chart and make a jump. Just as a reminder make sure the area you are using is safe and has no hazards.  Results from all the challenges on this page can be submitted to open@exeterharriers.org.uk. Please include your name, DOB, Age Group and the result for each challenge.  You may like to have several attempts over the coming weeks to track your improvement. SECOND LOCKDOWN CHALLENGE – SPEED BOUNCE

Please see the Sportshall link below which shows you how it’s done. If you’d like to take part then all are welcome. As with any form of exercise make sure you warm up and if this is something you haven’t tried before you may want to have a little practice to perfect technique. Just as a reminder make sure the area you are using is safe and has no hazards. You will need a parent or member of your household to time you and count your jumps. You’ll be allowed 20 seconds for your attempt. Results can be emailed to open@exeterharriers.org.uk. Please include your name, DOB, Age Group and number of “bounces”. Closing date for submissions 30th June.

If you’d like to have a further go at the Standing Long Jump, and are able to improve on your first attempt, please submit your new score with your speed bounce result. If you didn’t attempt the SLJ last time round why not have a go now?

Make sure the area you are using is safe and has no hazards. You may need a parent or member of your household to help you measure your jump. You’ll receive 4 trials and we’d like you to submit your best jump to open@exeterharriers.org.uk. Please include your name, DOB, Age Group and the distance of best trial. When measuring please state to the nearest cm below, for example if you were to jump 134.5cm that would be rounded down to 134cm. Closing date for submissions 30th June.
