The second Southern Athletics League fixture of the season saw Exeter’s small, but committed team, travel to Horsham, near Crawley, for the division 3 (SW) match on May 20th. Unfortunately, because of the low turn out they came 4th in the competition behind Brighton, Winchester and Swindon.
Team Manager, Dave Phillips was delighted with the spirit shown by the athletes. Younger athletes Michael Bowley, Sam Crowter, Sam Gooding and Chris Perry all performed well. Senior men, Ben Stone on his debut for the club (nominated as the unofficial man of the match by the team manager!) and Matt Prisk, in only his second match, enjoyed successful runs. Unfortunately, only two women were available, but they too ran strongly.
