A group of Exeter Harriers Juniors returned from the Newquay & Par Pentathlons with a haul of silverware following excellent results in this 5 event competition, with Abbie Freeman, Josh Cann and Sam Mills performing consistently well across all events to win their respective age groups.

Freeman achieved three new lifetime bests, running a huge new PB in the 100 with 15.2, and also in the shot putt with 6.37 and javelin with 16.41, to triumph in the U13 age group with 274 points and winning gold. Chloe Harris claimed bronze with 253 points, including a new PB in the 800 in 3:01.00, and Lois Norman was 5th with 240 points which included a good performances in the high jump with 1.18 and 100 in 15.3. Jasmine Stone was 6th with 233 points and included a stunning display of endurance running in the 800 in an excellent time of 2:46.1.

Cann triumphed in the U13 boys’ event, winning gold with 290 points, equalling his PB in the 100 with 14.8 and setting a new best in the long jump with 4.06. Michael Thomas was 4th with 242 points, including new lifetime bests in the 100 with 16.6 and 800 in 3:03.00, and Finley Norman claimed 5th with 230 points.

Mills dominated the U11 event, claiming gold with another superb endurance display in the 600, front-running from gun to finish in 1:50.4 just fractionally outside his lifetime best, and Harrison Stone claimed 5th place in the U10 event with a new best time in the 75 sprint of 13.2 and long jump with 3.07.
