Exeter Harriers friendly evening open competitions run on the last Tuesday of the month during the Track and Field season. As the events are run in the evening, with limited time, not all disciplines may be scheduled at each event, but rotated over the series.

All children over 8 years old on the day are actively encouraged to compete: it does not matter what standard they are and help will be given by the officials so they know what to do.

All Under-10s will be automatically entered into a U10 Triathlon. This inludes a run, a jump and a throw. This covers all the basic Athletics disciplines. See the monthly programmes for details.

1. South West Sapphire League – The MAY, JULY and AUGUST open meeting may also be fixtures for the SOUTH WEST SAPPHIRE LEAGUE (To Be Confirmed). The events and details for the Sapphire League can be found here:  Sapphire League
2. BMC Races – these will take place at 8pm in the April to August open meetings. Entry is through the BMC website: BMC
3. Age groups: ages are as on 31^st August 2026. Note the new age groups (U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 - U20 and Sen as before)
4. Maximum number of events
   • All age groups - 3 events (Under-10s are automatically entered into all events of the U10 Triathlon)
5. Restrictions
   • In the September Open, U12s and U14s cannot do both 800m and 1 Mile.
6. Open Events - U10 and U12 will take place in age groups. TRACK races will be graded where possible.
7. FIELD Events – 3 trials for U11 & U13, 4 trials for U15 & above.
8. There are no late entries but you can amend or transfer your entry up to the deadline.

10. Volunteers We rely on volunteer help to ensure the event can run smoothly. If you can help to support our qualified officials, and would be willing to do tasks such as; raking a sandpit, pulling a tape through to measure a long-jump or adjusting the high jump bar, please email open@exeterharriers.org.uk Thank you in anticipation
